THE BRIEF:
Fountainhead Ltd to collaborate on a fountain design with John Simpsons Architecture to create a water feature comprising 7 powder-coated stainless steel weirs projecting from a wall of pre-patinated copper panels.

The water from the weirs to cut cleanly into a semi-circular fountain pool below a stone arch in the wall of a new lecture theatre. The pumps and water treatment equipment to be sited in a below-ground chamber adjacent to the pool. A separate pump in the plant-chamber to draw water from the fountain pool and pump it in dedicated pipework through the building to provide natural cooling.

The water to then be returned to the pool and re-circulated. Fountainhead designed, fabricated and installed the patinated copper central panels, weirs and stainless steel support structure and supplied and installed all the pumps, pipework and water treatment equipment.
