In January 2013 it was announced that the baroque masterpiece that is the Trevi fountain in Rome is to be restored with funding from the Italian luxury goods brand Fendi. The company will also fund the restoration on Le Quattro Fontana. The Trevi makeover will include cleaning the facade and statues and re-waterproofing the pool. It is anticipated that the works will be completed by the end of 2015. Visitors hoping to see the fountain should check the Rome tourist board website to avoid disappointment during the restoration unless keen to see Fendi branded hoardings.
